About

I create when life slows down. And when it doesn’t – I live.

I am a British artist living in France, Provence, with my husband and a bossy-boots Border Collie, Bonny. I enjoy exploring a variety of creative mediums, including acrylic painting, watercolours, and digital art using the Procreate app. Each medium offers its own challenges and rewards, allowing me to express ideas in unique ways.

I was born and raised in Russia, in a Siberian city, before moving to the UK at the beginning of the new millennium, in 2003. After several years, with my husband, I made another move, settling in France. As a child, I spent much of my free time and even some study hours drawing for friends and family. It was always just for fun, though my artistic ability was often recognized at school. Growing up in Siberia, practicality was a defining part of life, deeply instilled in my generation. Following my parents’ encouragement, I pursued a university degree in engineering and economics, which initially led me down a very different path from art. However, creativity has always been a part of who I am, and it eventually found art way back into my life. Years have passed, and I’ve come to embrace everything the digital world has to offer. I was always curious about digital drawing, taking inspiration from David Hockney’s ground-breaking work in the medium. The years 2020 and 2021 gave me the perfect opportunity to explore and self-teach digital art software. After a few weeks of persistence, I found myself completely captivated by this revolutionary way of creating – experimenting with colours, textures, and details, while being able to translate my emotions and vision with remarkable precision. The breathtaking landscapes surrounding my home at the time in Tignes les Brevieres gave me the final nudge to return to drawing and painting, reigniting my passion for art in both traditional and modern forms.

Since I began my artistic journey, my work has found homes around the world – in Italy, Portugal, Germany, Holland, Belgium, the US, Canada, the UK, and France. Some pieces went to friends, others to people I’ve never met and, almost certain, never will. It’s overwhelming to know that my creations – small parts of me, shaped by moments and emotions – can resonate with others. For this, I am deeply grateful.

I have been fortunate to experience life in some truly inspiring places – the charming landscapes of Yorkshire, the mind-blowing, adventurous, tough and funny life in Tignes, and now the velvety, dreamlike beauty of Provence. I have no formal artistic training and never attended art school, and I choose to keep it that way – I want to preserve the originality and instinct that drive my work. My inspiration comes from nature, from my walks and travels, and from the people I meet along the way. Led by curiosity and passion, I see art as a journey without a roadmap – each piece a reflection of that journey, and a step toward wherever creativity takes me next.
